Mystic Krewe de Fou create a patriotic tribute
Mystic Krewe de Fou celebrated its 19th anniversary with a formal “United States Military Royal Ball” held Saturday at the Cade Community Center and featuring many symbols of freedom, including “The Star Spangled Banner,” the motto “In God We Trust,” the Great Seal of the United States and the United States flag which flies over the land and seas. The U.S. Armed Forces are the Federal Armed Forces of the United States. They consist of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force.
Military service is voluntary, though conscription may occur in wartime. The U.S. Armed Forces can be rapidly deployed by the Air Force’s large fleet of transport aircraft the Navy’s active aircraft carriers, Marines expeditionary units and the Army’s land-based military operations. The men and woman of the United States serving in the military protect freedom every day.
Reigning over the Mystic Krewe de Fou of Iberia bal masque XIX were His Majesty King United States of America Robert Lemay and Her Majesty Queen United States of America Tabithia Lemay.
Accompanying the king and queen USA are the royal pages of Krewe de Fou of Iberia, Emma Rose Broussard and Sophia Grace Broussard, children of Jessi and Shawn Broussard, Caroline Anne Callais and Isabella Claire Callais, children of Travis and Kristie Callais, Aidan Derouen, son of Shane and Desiree Derouen, John Antonio Filippi and Nicolina Mable Filippi, children of John Filippi and Catrina Broussard, R.J. Lemay, son of Robert and Tabathia Lemay, Kaleb Andre Rouly and Karrigan Elizabeth Andrea’ Rouly, children of Karl and Ellie Rouly and grandchildern of the captians, and Alex Viscardi III, son of Alex and Alexis Viscardi.
Mable Filippi, children of John Filippi and Catrina Broussard, R.J. Lemay, son of Robert and Tabathia Lemay, Kaleb Andre Rouly and Karrigan Elizabeth Andrea’ Rouly, children of Karl and Ellie Rouly and grandchildern of the captians, and Alex Viscardi III, son of Alex and Alexis Viscardi.
Captains James and Paula Dautreuil Arceneaux opened the bal masque with the traditional blowing of the whistle and representing Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty.
Clint and Jessica Ardion represented the U.S. Army, Rodney and Christine Lafleur represented the U.S. Air Force, Travis and Kristie Callais represented the U.S. Navy, and Karl and Ellie Arceneaux Rouly represented the U.S. Marine Corps.
This year Mystic Krewe de Fou proudly recognized the 2017 Goodwill Ambassador George “Dickie” Gauthier and the 2017 Queen Mothers Marlene Broussard and Diane Ericksen.
Mystic Krewe de Fou’s Young Ambassadors are Devin Kayne Bourque, daughter of Trinity and Molly Bourque, Richard Pierce Delaughter is the son of Travis amd Kristine Menard, Skylar Rene Derouen, daughter of Clint and Denise Derouen, Makayla Renee Kidder, guardians Mike and Vicki Norris, Victoria Vilcan, daughter of Thomas and Tricia Vilcan.
Mystic Krewe de Fou introduced the following United States veterans.
Airman 1st Class Hunter Bonin is currently in the U.S. Air Force having served two years.
Staff Sgt. Grant Chaudoir has served in the U.S. Army National Guard 18 years, including Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan, Operation Inherent Resolve, Kuwait and Iraq.
E 5 Specialist Collins Chris Dautreuil served three years in the U.S. Army in military intelligence in Vietnam.
E 4 Airman 1st Class Al Fontenot served four years in the U.S. Air Force, serving in Vietnam as a radar repairman.
Staff Sgt. John N. ‘Johnny’ Hebert served six years from Feb. 1965 to April 1971 in the U.S. Army and National Guard.
Staff Sgt. A.C. Ward served 20 years in the U.S. Army including Operation Desert Storm, Iraq three times and Afghanistan. He is a member of the Sgt. Audie Murphy Club.
Speclalist E 4 Thad Talbot served four years in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborn Division. He served in the Panama War and the first Desert Storm and Desert Shield.
