At the 11th Krewe de la Renaissance Acadienne Ball

The Krewe de la Renaissance Acadienne held its 11th annual ball Saturday at DoubleTree Hotel in Lafayette. The theme of the ball was “I’ll Drink to That!”

Reigning over the festivities were Krewe de la Renaissance Acadienne’s King XI, Carl “Coco” Broussard, and Queen XI, Kristin Vincent.

King Carl “Coco” Broussard is the son of Kelly Broussard of Youngsville and the late Isaac Broussard. He is employed by Coastal Chemical and resides in Youngsville with his wife, Joan Landry Broussard. Broussard is the father of Brooke Broussard and Blake Broussard. Although Coco has enjoyed his title as “king,” his greatest title is grandfather to Ellie and Isaac Goutierrez, also of Youngsville.

His queen, Kristin Vincent, is the daughter of Jerome and Patti Vincent of Delcambre. Vincent is a 1999 graduate of Delcambre High School and a 2004 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she earned her degree in early childhood education.

Vincent is employed by Quality Sports Authority. Although her roots are in Delcambre, she currently supports the blue and white with her adopted Bobcat family. Vincent is a member of the QSA Bash board and a board member for the Ross Granger Memorial Fund. She is also a member of Fuel Vermilion.

Hosting the night’s program was Brian Campbell. The evening began with the introduction of former kings and queens from Renaissance as well as visiting royalty representing various krewes from the sourrounding area.

The evening’s entertainment highlighted events which lend themselves to drinking and partying.
