A Home-going celebration will be held for Kennedy Guy, 62, at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Fletcher Funeral Home with Rev. David Gilton officiating.

He will await the resurrection at Saint John Baptist Church Cemetery in Four Corners.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home until time of service.

A resident of Jeanerette, he passed away at 2:12 p.m. on April 10, 2017, at The Carpenter House in Lafayette.

He was a 1974 graduate of Jeanerette Senior High School. In addition, he was employed at M.A. Patout and Sons for over forty years.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Carolyn Thompson Guy, of Jeanerette; one son Germaine (Requita) Guy of Woodridge, Virginia; two daughters Sheryl (Garland) Wesley and Demitrias Guy of Jeanerette; two brothers Roland Guy Sr. of Ciena Vista, Arizona and Junius (Lenora) Guy of Galveston, Texas; two sisters Florestine (Leroy) Hill Sr. of Patoutville and Eldora Williams of New Iberia; 10 grandchildren Jasmin, Desmond, Caleb, Teri, Courtney, Christian, Ja’Myer, Letrell, Kennedy and Dillan; two great-grandchildren Aliyah and Skye; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas Guy Sr. and Eldora Key Guy; three brothers Woodrow Guy, Sylvester Guy and Douglas Guy Jr.; and three sisters Christine G. Alexander, Daisy Romar and Linda Guy.

Active pallbearers will be Germaine Guy, Donald Guy, Roland Guy Jr., Garland Wesley, Dwan Joseph and James Guy.

Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Gilton, Reginald Thompson, Darryl Syrie, Terry Thompson, Whitney Thompson, Herman Thompson, Roland Guy Sr. and Junius Guy.
