Mrs. Andrew Walter Boulet

Katherine Alexis Picard and Andrew Walter Boulet were married Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Le Pavillon in Lafayette. The 6:30 p.m. ceremony was officiated by Christopher Hebert, cousin of the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Dawn Peet Picard of New Iberia and the late Mr. James L. Picard. Katherine is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Peet of New Iberia and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter “Coon” Picard, formerly of Milton.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robbie Boulet of Houston, Texas. Andrew is the grandson of Mrs. Myrna Boulet of Breaux Bridge, Mr. Mac Boulet of Lafayette, Mrs. Geraldine Seal of Lafayette and the late Mr. Harold Seal.

Escorted by her mother, the bride wore an elegant ivory-colored Madison James bridal gown which featured a notched sheer sweetheart bodice underneath an intricate lace embroidery and crystal detail. The trumpet gown was accented by a lacy jewel neckline and a princess seamed satin skirt. The sheer lace back with satin covered buttons and a chapel train were further enchanced by a cascading pencil edge tulle cathedral veil. In memory of the bride’s late father, a blue heart made from one of his shirts was sewn on the inside of the gown.

She carried a garden clutch of white hydrangea, ivory-colored roses, white O’hara garden roses, white ranunculas, black-eyed anenomies, accented by silver dollar eucalyptus with ivory-colored satin wrapping the stems. Tucked into her bouquet was a memory rosary made with flowers from her father’s funeral and her mother’s ivory-colored lace wedding handkerchief.

Serving as matron of honor was Alison Picard Moody, sister of the bride. Ava Claire Moody, niece of the bride, walked with her mother. Bridesmaids were Alicia Boulet Abbott and Rachel Boulet, sisters of the groom, Hailey Babineaux, Jade Viator, Jeanne Switzer and Allison Talley Hebert.

Serving as best man was Hudson Hickey. Groomsmen were Nick Abbott, brother-in-law of the groom, T. J. LeBlanc, Hunter Jones, Coleman Curry, Dylan Munoz and Cortland Lyles.

The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Blue Dog Café in Lafayette the evening before the wedding.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Le Pavillon.

After returning from a honeymoon to Jamaica, the couple will reside in Lafayette.
