Burney Charles Mouton

A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted for Burney Charles Mouton, 60, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. William Blanda officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 9 pm on Tuesday with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Wednesday until service time.

A native of Gueydan and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Burney passed away at 11:50 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at his residence.

Burney was a welder by trade for numerous years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to cook. He was an awesome husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend to many.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Crystal “Annie” Castille Mouton, of Coteau; three daughters Natasha Salkowitz and husband, Ross, of Ricohoc; Natalie Hayes and husband, Toby, of Loreauville and Aija Mouton of New Iberia; six grandchildren McKenzie Salkowitz, Madison Salkowitz, Macie Salkowitz, Makayla Hayes, Nyiah Mouton and Zaiden Mouton; his parents, Eugene and Theresa Borel Mouton, of New Iberia; two sisters Debbie Monte and husband, Keith, and Tina Mouton and companion Verna Angelle all of New Iberia; and two brothers Darrell Mouton and wife, Mary, of Gueydan and Chip Mouton of Breaux Bridge.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alfred and Lydia Borel; paternal grandparents, Wilfred and Eula Mae Mouton; one niece Linzi Romero; brother-in-law Dickie Romero; and best friend Eric Champagne.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Mouton, Keith Monte, Dustin Romero, Barry LeMaire, Carrol Castille and Charles Castille Jr.
