Norman E. Schexnayder

BRADENTON, Florida — Funeral services will be held for Norman Edward Schexnayder, 69, at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church in Bradenton, Florida. Burial will follow at Bushnell National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

Visitation will be held at Shannon Funeral Home in Bradenton, Florida on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Norman was born on June 28, 1948, and passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.

He is a graduate of New Iberia Senior High and worked many years at the Consolata Nursing Home in New Iberia. He then moved to Florida and worked at West Minister Alsberry Retirement Home until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Shirley Cartwright Schexnayder; his daughter Stephanie S. Shatterlee and husband, Jonathon; his three grandchildren Sebastian, Claudia and Jackson Shatterlee; his three sisters Carole S. Viviano and husband, J. B., Madeline S. Bernard and husband, Byron and Elizabeth S. Delahoussaye and husband Irby; his three brothers Arthur Schexnayder Jr. and his wife, Norma Dupre, James Schexnayder and Gene Schexnayder.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Louis Schexnayder and Florence Bishop; and his brother Wayne Schexnayder.

Serving as pallbearers will be Irby Delahoussaye, Jimmy Schexnayder, Gene Schexnayder and Mike Landry.
