A man wearing a clown mask and wielding a machete broke into a home Monday afternoon, according to the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office.

IPSO spokesman Maj. Wendell Raborn said the department received a call from Iberia Medical Center at approximately 2:20 p.m. from a victim who had entered the hospital after suffering minor cuts.

Raborn said the suspect, a black male, entered the man’s home located in the 1200 block of Oil Center Drive in Iberia Parish, and was wearing a black hoodie and clown mask mask while brandishing a machete.

The occupant of the home received cuts to his face, Raborn said, and the suspect stole an undetermined amount of items from the home.
