Acadiana Christian School New Iberia announced its nomination for the esteemed Capturing Kids Hearts National Showcase School recognition by The Flippen Group. This nomination underscores the school’s commitment to fostering transformative processes that enhance the educational experience for students, teachers, and the entire school community.
Capturing Kids Hearts, a program designed by The Flippen Group, has impacted over 10,000 schools nationwide, with its core focus on cultivating relational capacity, improving school culture, strengthening trust between teachers and students, building self-managing classrooms, creating accountability, improving academic performance, and fostering trauma-informed care.
“We are thrilled to be nominated for the Capturing Kids Hearts National Showcase School,” said Monique Sanchez (Principal of ACS New Iberia). “This recognition validates our dedication to creating a positive and nurturing environment where students can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.”
Acadiana Christian School New Iberia commenced its implementation of the CKH process in the Fall of 2019. “For 5 years we have been working on improving our school culture and being able to Reach Students, Build Lives. The CKH process is part of our school’s commitment to providing an enriching educational experience that goes beyond academic achievements. Our students and staff start each day with Good Things, collectively utilize Classroom Social Contracts, and communicate through engaging lessons. Together, these elements empower both teachers and students to have positive academic and social experiences while at school and beyond,” said Sanchez.
The nomination process involves evaluation by CKH Strategists, who assess positive outcomes in campus culture and performance, as well as feedback from staff, students & families.
“We believe that sharing the love of Christ with our students/families has been instrumental in our schools ability to fully utilize the Capturing Kids Hearts process. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we have been able to create a positive and inclusive learning environment,” added Sanchez. “This nomination reaffirms our commitment to these transformative processes and inspires us to continue fostering a school culture that prioritizes relational connections and student well-being.”
The announcement of winners for the Capturing Kids Hearts National Showcase School is scheduled for April.
