Halloween is just around the corner for Iberia Parish, and spooky events will be popping up over the next few weeks to ring in the season.

FRIGHTMARE on Main Street, located at the historic Hot Sauce Hout on Main Street, will officially open Sept. 28, and remain open the last three Fridays and last four Saturdays in October.

The house is billed as a “terrifying outdoor trail” located in downtown New Iberia. The secluded home location on the corner of Main “provides the perfect creepy backdrop for the trail which will take you through several sets and attractions with live scare actors.”

Other events will be opening up once October gets here, including the annual pumpkin patch in Loreauville that kicks off on Oct. 10. The event is put on by the village and Loreauville Community Project, and features games and pumpkins for children to enjoy throughout the month.

In Delcambre, the Delcambre Project Graduation is putting on a haunted house of their own at the Shrimp Festival Grounds. The event will be held Oct. 12-13 from 6-8 p.m. A Delcambre Trunk or Treat will be held Oct. 13 at the Shrimp Festival Grounds as well.

The month will culminate on Oct. 26, when the annual New Iberia Halloween Parade kicks off on Main Street. The parade is similar to the Mardi Gras parades every year, except with a spooky twist that has participants dressing in their best Halloween costumes.

The parade kicks off at the New Iberia Civic Center, where the fountain in front of City Hall will be turned black to ring in Halloween. The parade will run from 2 to 4 p.m.
