The Essanee Theater will be hosting a stand up set for Nashville-based comedian Lee Hardin on April 27.

Over the years, Hardin has been able to share the stage with comedians like Henry Cho, Ryan Hamilton and Nate Bargatze. In 2019, his comedy special, “Not Quite A Grown-Up” was released on DryBar Comedy, according to a prepared statement. Lee also made his television debut on “The Mike Huckabee Show,” where he also performs regularly as the warm-up act.

New Iberia will be the second stop on Hardin’s current tour, with the first being Marysville, Ohio. His final show will be in Mandeville on April 28.

How did you get started in comedy?

Was a lifelong fan of standup comedy. Always obsessed with making people laugh. Got started into comedy by taking a comedy class at Zanies in Nashville, Tennessee. Eventually started hitting the road and have been trying to figure it out since.

Who are some of your biggest influences?

Jerry Seinfeld. Jim Gaffigan. Jeff Foxworthy. Sinbad. Brian Regan. Ben Bailey

Have you performed in Louisiana often?

Just once a few years ago, in the back of a restaurant. The few people that knew I was there really enjoyed it.

What should people expect at one of your shows?

Standup comedy that is meant for everyone to enjoy. A lot of people want to go see a standup comedy show but won’t step foot into a comedy club because the comics might be foul and inappropriate. My act is clean. I don’t swear. My intent is to make the show fun for as many people as possible.
