Local New Iberia tint business Dat Tint Tho has found a new permanent home at 400 South Lewis Street.

For 25 years, owner Shane Trahan worked self-employed providing professional tinting work for automotive, commercial, and residential customers. He spent the last nine of those years working out of Rim Pros of New Iberia. 

Mica Olivier who worked with Trahan for 10 years, said he repeatedly pushed him to open his own storefront to attract new customers and establish a name for the business.

“He’s been doing this so long, but nobody knows him! I always told him, you need your own place,” Olivier said.

The New Iberia Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of the new location on June 1.

The move didn’t disrupt business, but only strengthened and expanded it, according to Trahan.

“We are constantly busy. Thursday and Friday we did 28 vehicles. The phones ringing, people are coming in, it’s been a blessing,” Trahan said.

Dat Tint Tho also provides tinting for 6 dealerships around the area and offers solar film for home.
