The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office celebrated the official opening of the Law Enforcement Center Friday with a ribbon cutting.

The ceremony came with the partnership of the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce and had many parish officials attending to celebrate the opening.

The new facility allows the sheriff’s office an expansive new facility much larger than its previous office across from the Iberia Parish Courthouse, which will still be used to keep an IPSO presence at the courthouse in a limited capacity.

Funding for a new facility was approved by the Iberia Parish Council in January of last year, and was widely supported as a way to consolidate the IPSO into one building and provide much needed space for records and equipment.
