Highland Baptist Christian School Principal Tim Sensley announced he will be stepping down as HBCS principal, but still plans to be a part of the community.
Friday was Sensley’s last day on the job at Highland, and Assistant Principal Brittany White will be serving as interim principal following his departure. Although he will be taking a job in Lafayette, Sensley said he won’t be gone from the Highland community and his wife will continue to coach.
“It’s hard to believe it’s been eight years,” he said. “Time flies when you’re having fun.”
Sensley was hired as principal following the forming of an advisory committee in 2016 and has served in the position since. He said in a prepared statement that he was thankful for the time spent at HBCS and thanked the community for opening themselves up to him and his family.
“Words can’t begin to describe the gratitude that I have for you all,” he said in the statement. “This has been a great ride, and I will forever remember all the memories that were created during my tenure. From getting rid of the mods to a state championship, to seeing students give their life to Christ and walking with them in some of the most difficult seasons throughout their life. No matter what the season was, we went through it together.”
