CECILIA — Alvin Leo Davis Jr., 30, a native of Jeanerette and a resident of Cecilia, died on Friday, September 28, 2012, in St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at 1 p.m. at First Jerusalem Baptist Church in Jeanerette. Visitation will begin at 7 a.m. at the church in Jeanerette. Interment will follow in Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Jeanerette. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Arthur Lee Alexander.

Mr. Davis is survived by his parents, Mrs. Sandra Lively and Mr. Alvin Leo Davis Sr.; one son Lason Edmond of Arnaudville; three stepbrothers Randall Babineaux (Sheree) of Cecilia, Travis Livings of Lafayette and Dayous Jenkins of Gray; three brothers Cordell Davis (Sheenia) of New Iberia, Kerrie Davis of Orange, Texas, and Dillon Davis of Orange, Texas; two sisters Allsia August of Jeanerette and Ladaysha Lively of Jeanerette; two stepsisters Chantell Broussard (Larry) of Cecilia and Mia Brouchet of Breaux Bridge; a special friend Racquel Livings; five stepchildren; one godchild Deriona Nedie; maternal grandfather, Jessie Lee Williams; godparents Chris Davis and Jessie Eugene; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who realized earth has no sorrow heaven cannot heal.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jessie Mae Williams; paternal grandparents, Anthony Davis Sr. and Shirley Davis; maternal great-great-grandmother, Loriska Dejean.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
