Amanda Blakely

Miss Amanda Caryn Blakely, 29, died on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in Youngsville. Miss Blakely was a former resident of New Iberia and Monroe, and most recently resided in Youngsville.
Amanda succumbed to her battle with mental illness, after fighting courageously for many years.
Survivors include her parents, Sharon Stephenson (Blakely) of Youngsville, LA and Danny Blakely of New Iberia, LA; her maternal grandmother, Mary Nell Bruner Stephenson Downs and her husband, Henry “Buck” Downs of North Carrollton, Mississippi; her paternal grandmother, Betty Taylor Blakely Love of Winona, Mississippi; as well as uncles, aunts, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Richard Lynn Stephenson, and paternal grandfather, Billy Dean Blakely.
Amanda touched many lives in her short time on this Earth, and she loved everyone she knew with all of her enormous heart. She was known for her gentle soul, her kindness, her compassion and skill with animals and children, her love of nature and her quick wit.

A 2 p.m. Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2018, in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service.
