Memorial services will be conducted for Barry Bernard LeBlanc, age 75, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2018, at Evangeline Funeral Home with Deacon Russell Hayes officiating. Inurnment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. on Saturday until service time.
A native of Jeanerette and resident of St. Gabriel, Mr. LeBlanc passed away at 12:35 a.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at his residence.
Barry was a graduate of Jeanerette Senior High. He served his country honorably in the Louisiana National Guard. He retired after 36 years of service and received numerous medals and awards with the HHC 2nd Battalion 156th Infantry.
Barry was a devoted father, grandfather and husband who loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and going to the casino.
He is survived by his wife of nine years, Sherry Efferson LeBlanc of St. Gabriel; one son, Ty LeBlanc and wife Diann; one daughter, Brooke LeBlanc; three step-daughters, Bethany King and husband Scott, Lacey King and Amie Cowart and husband Robert; three grandchildren, Colby Verret, Tyler LeBlanc and Emmy LeBlanc; three step-grandchildren, Destiny, Morgan and Kennedy; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, June Voorhies and Fay L. Parsley and husband Vernon; one brother, Johnnie LeBlanc and wife Diana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Brenda “Sue” Brown LeBlanc; and his parents, Bernard C. and Elaine Kelly LeBlanc.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to The Crossing at Clarity Hospice, 9191 Bluebonnet Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70810.
