Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Brian Lee Dempsey, 55, who went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in New Iberia.

Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.

Rev. Paul Neel will officiate.

A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. Visitation will continue Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Born on April 14, 1958, Brian was a longtime resident of New Iberia, and a graduate of New Iberia Senior High School. He, along with his father and brothers, helped build the family business, National Welding Supply. A very kind and generous person, Brian adored his children and had a strong relationship with the Lord. His hobbies included hunting, watching movie, and being a practical joker. He was a member of Assembly Christian Church in New Iberia and had previously been active in Promise Keepers.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Hewell Dempsey of New Iberia; mother, Dorothy P. “Jackie” Dempsey of New Iberia; daughter Lisa Marie Dempsey of New Iberia; brothers Michael J. Dempsey and wife, Pamela, of New Iberia, Stephen J. Dempsey and wife, Aleta, of Houma, and Glenn A. Dempsey of Seattle, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Dempsey; sons Jay Thomas Dempsey and William Lee Dempsey; and a brother Christopher W. Dempsey.

Pallbearers will be Michael J. Dempsey, Stephen J. Dempsey, Glenn A. Dempsey, Carey Mahoney, Doug Walker and Ernie Pouliot.

Honorary pallbearers include Charles “Mac” Hewell and Bob Beyt.
