A Home-going celebration will be held for Cornelious A. Roman, 78, at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Fletcher Funeral Home in New Iberia, with Rev. Adam Curley officiating.
He will await the resurrection in St. Mark Baptist Church Cemetery in Jeanerette.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service.
He was born on January 9, 1940, to Arthine T. Roman and Willie Roman Sr.
Mr. Roman passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018, at Maison Teche Nursing Home.
A resident of Jeanerette, Cornelious was a military veteran. He was enlisted with the U.S. Army from 1962 to1969.
He leaves to cherish his memory and in God’s care his son Michael W. Roman (Linda) of Jeanerette; his daughter Denise M. RomanThomas (Gregory Sr.) of Pflugerville, Texas; two sisters Myrna R. Fondal of Monroe and Debera K. Morman of Hyattsville, Maryland; five brothers Frank Nicholas of Galveston, Texas, Willie Roman Jr. of Jeanerette, Eddie A. Roman (Carla) of Port Arthur, Texas, Eldridge R. Roman of Jeanerette and Lawrence J. Roman (Carlotta) of Lathrop, California; grandchildren LaDaysha Lively-Jones and Garren Thomas; three great-grandchildren Dentric August, Xaria August and Chandler Thomas; goddaughter Christina Londo; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Arthine T. Roman and Willie Roman Sr.; one brother Charles A. Roman; one sister Willie M. Roman Vicks; and one grandson Gregory Thomas Jr.
Active pallbearers are Eldridge Roman, Craig Roman, Fitzgerald Roman, Jeffery Roman, Wilson Lewis and Kerald Morman.
Honorary pallbearers are Michael Roman, Gregory Thomas Sr., Lawrence Roman, Frank Nicholas, Willie Roman Jr., Garren Thomas and Eddie Roman.
