A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Dorothy Oppenheimer 79 the former Dorothy Camille Delahoussaye at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia, LA with Fr. Alex Albert, celebrant.
She will await the resurrection at S. Nicholas Catholic Church Cemetery, Patoutville, LA.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday at the church, 8:00 a.m. until the time of service, with a rosary recited at 11:00 a.m.
A resident of Grand Marais, LA, Mrs. Oppenheimer passed on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 11:22 a.m. at Iberia Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Oppenheimer was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society.
She leaves to cherish her memories on daughter, Lisa Broussard (Gerald) of Grand Marais, LA; two grandchildren, Avonna and Avun Broussard of Grand Marais, LA; one brother, Peter Carlton Delahoussaye (Bonnie) og Grand Marais, LA; three sisters, Elaine Olivier of Grand Marais, LA, Marcella Rochon of New Iberia, LA, and Sheryl Mouton (Stanley) of Broussard, LA; one sisterinlaw, Bertha Delahoussaye of New Iberia, LA; two brothersinlaw, Carlton Oppenheimer (Peggy) of New Iberia, LA, Jeremiah Thompson Sr., (Ethel) of Patoutville, LA; one adopted daughter Shelly Schexnayder (Bryan) of Patoutville, LA; godchildren, Valine Olivier, James Olivier, and Derrick Delahoussaye; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She now joins in glory with her husband Alton Oppenheimer; her parents, Herman and Luch Delahoussaye; one brother Murray Delahoussaye; one brotherinlaw, Murphy Olivier and two nephews, Dale Olivier, and Donell Olivier.
Active pallbearers will be, Andre Olivier, James Olivier, Mark Delahoussaye, Derrick Delahoussaye, Elston Touriac, and Nicky Touriac.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Peter Carlton Delahoussaye, Jeremiah Thompson, Sr., Carlton Oppenheimer, Stanley Mouton, Oren Decuir, Greg Clemmons, James Delahoussaye, Sr., Quincy Rochon, William Touriac, Shelton Touriac, Kenny Touriac, Perry Thompson, Terry Thompson, and Jeremiah Thompson, Jr.
