Eugene Suire

DELCAMBRE — Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Eugene Suire, 85, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Herb Bennefield officiating. Interment will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Church Mausoleum with military honors by VFW Post No. 1982.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time on Tuesday. A Rosary will also be recited during the visitation.  

A native and resident of Delcambre, Mr. Suire passed away at 4:50 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 2012, at Abbeville General Hospital.  

Mr. Suire served in the Navy during WWII in Alaska. He was a member of both the VFW and American Legion. He worked as an electrical engineer and boat captain during his lifetime.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Marie Suire; sons Miles Eugene Suire and wife, Cathy, of Berwick and Jonathan Joseph Suire of Delcambre; daughter Paula Suire Simmons and husband, Mark LeBlanc, of Delcambre; brother John Suire; sisters Lillian Folgmon, Nell Meaux, Gloria Viator, Cecile Toups, Theresa Peltier, Annette Parson and Faye Trahan; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Paula Suire; and sister Thelma Creasman.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Suire, Robert Simmons, Brett Simmons, Cody Simmons, Joey Simmons and Miles Suire.
