Joyce Thibodeaux Dore

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018, at Assembly Christian Church in New Iberia for Joyce Dore, 90, who passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, in New Iberia.

Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pastor Paul Neel will officiate.

A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Dore was born on July 18, 1927, to the late Norbert and Maggie Belot Thibodeaux. She enjoyed walking, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Dore was a prayer warrior, constantly praying for everyone.

Survivors include her daughter Tyra Williams and husband, Bobby, of New Iberia; sons Brian Dore and wife, Doris, of Ville Platte, Blaine Dore and wife, Denise, of New Iberia; grandchildren Nicole Guillory, Michelle Reed, Lori Williams, Skyler Williams, Blaine Christopher Dore, Lucas Dore, Brooke Simoneaud; 12 great grandchildren and one great grandchild due to arrive in April.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harry Joseph Dore; brothers Wade Thibodeaux, Westley “Coon” Thibodeaux, Leroy Thibodeaux; sisters Gladys Broussard, Marjorie Stein, Mabel Meyers, Carrie Broussard and a grandson Dave Dore.
