A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Richard “Dicky” Bonin Jr., 63, who died Thursday, June 13, 2013, in New Iberia.

Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.

Rev. Mark Derise will be the Celebrant.

A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Visitation will continue Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, “Dicky” was born on August 19, 1949, and attended New Iberia Senior High. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and worked in the oilfield for over 30 years.

He is survived by his mother, Darlene R. Rouly of New Iberia; children Rick Lee Bonin and wife Holly of New Iberia, Katrina Miles and husband Scott of Bridgeman, Mich., Rachel Rogers and husband Roy of New Iberia, Lacey Bonin and husband Nathan of New Iberia; sisters Mona Dore of Coteau, Sylvia Perez and husband Robert of Lafayette, Maria Romero and husband Juan of New Iberia, Paulette Delahoussaye and husband Mike of New Iberia; brothers Otto “Tetoe” Bonin and wife Christi of New Iberia, John Bonin and wife Patricia of St. Martinville, Orien Bonin and wife Donita of Coteau; grandchildren Paige Dorsey, Jessica Miles, Trent Miles, Logan Abbott, Scott Miles, II, Brennan Miles, Myla Bonin, Tori Bonin, and Jayla Flournoy; and great-grandchild Aiden Dorsey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard U. Bonin, Sr.; a sister, Richelle Bonin; and a great nephew, Eyan Paul Hernandez.

Pallbearers include Orien Bonin, John Bonin, Otto “Tetoe” Bonin, Scott Miles, Roy Rogers, Rick Bonin and Trent Miles.

Honorary pallbearers are Mike Delahoussaye, Robert Perez, Juan Reyes, Scott Miles, Brennan Miles and Logan Abbott.
