Private services will be held at a later date for Terrance “Terry” Michael Tracy, 68, who passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016, in New Iberia.
A resident of New Iberia, Mr. Tracy was born on October 11, 1947, in Port Arthur, Texas, and was raised in California and Loreauville. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, and worked for Mouton Electronics and National Welding Supply. Mr. Tracy was also a published author, having wrote several books. He also enjoyed painting, fishing, playing golf, but especially taking care of his wife, Verla.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Verla D. Peltier Tracy, of New Iberia; daughter Marian Migues and husband, Charles, of New Iberia; step daughter Gail Young and husband, Charles, of New Iberia; brother Malcolm Tracy and wife, Sharon, of Atwater, California; sisters Deborah T. Breaux and husband, Gordon, of Lydia and Pat Bayard and husband, Wayne, of Loreauville; grandson Dakato Migues of New Iberia; step granddaughter Mary Young Beebe and husband, Jerek, of New Iberia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Gladys Bodin Tracy.
The family would like to give special thanks to Mr. Tracy’s caregiver JoAnn Olivier and to Heart of Hospice, especially his nurse Ron.
