Glenn Gabriel Conner

A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Glenn Gabriel Conner, 64, at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018, at St. Edward Roman Catholic Church. Fr. Thomas Vu will be the Celebrant.

Entombment will follow at Saint Edward Roman Catholic Church Mausoleum.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Saturday 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 9 a.m.

A native and resident of New Iberia, he answered the call of his Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Iberia Medical Center.

Glenn was born on September 8, 1953, in Lafayette to Mr. Morris Conner Sr. and Mrs. Annie Manuel Conner. He was the youngest of eleven children. At a young age he accepted Christ as his Savior and became a member of St. Edward Roman Catholic Church.

He was a 1971 graduate of New Iberia Senior High School. He later enlisted in the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge. Moreover, he was employed at Morton Salt for 42 years. A great outdoorsman, he kept his lawn immaculate and enjoyed the sports, football, softball, tennis, bowling and also golf. He thought he cooked the best barbecue in town and made the best pecan candy.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Debra Joseph Conner of New Iberia; one daughter Elisa Michelle Conner of Lafayette; one granddaughter Aureyon Necole Conner of Lafayette; two sisters Irma C. Guillory (Else) of Jacksonville, Florida and Cherry C. Polk of Houston, Texas; one brother Martin Conner of Jacksonville, Florida; three godchildren Keith Conner, Tameka Polk and Tiffany Augustine-Ousley; sisters-in-law, brothers-n-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Conner Sr. and Annie Manuel Conner; five brothers Morris Conner Jr., Marion “Preacher” Conner, Hodges Conner, Leo Conner Sr. and James W. Conner and two sisters Lois C. Moncriffe and Morrow C. Wilturner.

Active Pallbearers are: Tyrone Moncriffe, Darrin Guillory, Troy Wilturner, Charles Rideaux, Kerry Conner Jr. and Miranda Moncriffe.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Alfred Davis Sr., Ted Williams, J.E. Davis Jr., Lawrence Galentine, David Wilturner, Leo Conner Jr., Keith Conner and Bryan Conner.
