Leo Poledore Jr.
A home going celebration will be held for Leo “L.J.” Poledore Jr., 67, at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Israelite Divine Spiritual Church of Christ #2 with Bishop Jules Anderson III officiating.
He will await the resurrection at Sorrel Community Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the Israelite Divine Spiritual Church of Christ #2 until the time of service.
A native of Beaumont, Texas and a resident of Jeanerette, he passed away at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at The Carpenter House of Saint Joseph Hospice.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Mary Sparrow Poledore, of Jeanerette; six sons Shawn Alfred of Four Corners, Leo Bryant Poledore of New Iberia, Fredrick Minor of Abbeville, Thaddeus Patrick Clay (Pamela) of Jeanerette, Jason Bowser of New Iberia and Marvin Johnson of San Diego, California; five daughters Daberon Denise Key (Perren) Fellowman Clay and Yvette Sparrow, all of Jeanerette, Lashayla Clay of Lafayette and Cherie Williams (Kenjawn) of New Iberia; three brothers Curtis Polidore (Theresa), Roy Anthony Polidore of Beaumont, Texas and Donald Ray Polidore of Jeanerette; two sisters Ada Lee Polidore and Ruth Polidore Loston (Gerald) of Beaumont, Texas; 46 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Polidore Sr. and Rosa Belle Jones Polidore and one sister Annie Zadie Polidore.
Active pallbearers will be Maurice Polidore, Derric Polidore, Jeremy Polidore, Leo Bryant Polidore, Lasharri Loston and Shawn Alfred.
Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Galentine, Thaddeus Patrick Clay, Bobbie Reed, Roy Thomas, Perren Key and Roy Butts.
