Eldridge “Deacom” O. Larson

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Eldridge “Deacom” Overton Larson, 90.  

A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday. 

Rev. David Jeffreys will be the Officiant. 

A longtime former resident of New Iberia, Mr. Larson was born in St. Martin Parish on September 20, 1927, to the late Herman “Shine” Larson and Armead Carline Larson. He died on Monday, December 18, 2017, at Nottingham Rehabilitation Center in Baton Rouge.  

He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Larson was a wireline service specialist with Otis Engineering with 30 years of service.  He was very dedicated to his work and made certain he observed all safety precautions on the job. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. 

Eldridge is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Frieda Curry Larson; three children Mrs. Roland Thompson (Gwen), Mrs. Kevin Young (Candy) and Christopher Larson; eight grandchildren Will Thompson, Lindsey Young Bennett, Matt Young, Julie Thompson Stinton, Heather Thompson, Kendall Larson, Kelsey Young and Ashley Larson; ten great-grandchildren Joseph Bennett, Grace Bennett, Wyatt Young, Mary Claire Bennett, John Paul Bennett, Patrick Bennett, Jaxson Young, Luke Bennett, Avery Stinton and Dominic Bennett; three sisters Lila Larson Curry, Alcion Larson Sandefur and Judy Larson Schouest; and four brothers Larry, Ronald, Huey and Gary Larson.

In addition to his parents, Deacom was preceded in death by three brothers Roy, H. Jay and Curtis Larson; and a sister Velma Larson.
