IPSO IDs armed robbery suspect
Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives are searching for a man believed to be involved with two robberies last month.
According to IPSO spokesman Maj. Wendell Raborn, the department has obtained arrest warrants for four counts of armed robbery for Mark Anthony Wesley Jr.
On March 28, Wesley reportedly robbed a cashier and two customers at gunpoint at the Family Dollar Store on West Admiral Doyle Drive. The next day, he reportedly also robbed the cashier of the Dollar General Store on West Admiral Doyle Drive at gunpoint.
Raborn described Wesley as a 23-year-old black male, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, who weighs approximately 130 pounds. Wesley, who is believed to be hiding in or around New Iberia, should be considered armed and dangerous.
