A native of St. Martinville and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Milton J. Simon, age 81, passed away at 9:50 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017 while he was surrounded by his loving family.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Simon was a boat captain in the oil and gas industry until he chose to retire so that he could care for the love of his life in her final days. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Now that he is no longer suffering he can go into eternal rest with his wife. His memories will be forever cherished in the hearts of his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his son Michael Simon of New Iberia, his step daughter Loyce Meaux of Florida, his grandchildren Ashley Simon of New Iberia, Cortney Touchet and her husband Dustin of New Iberia, and Brett Menard of Florida; great-grandchildren Hanah, Paityne, Thai, Matthew, Ladayhsa, Ashantay; his sisters Lorena Simon Laperouse and Shirley Douet.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lellia Miller Simon; his parents Essay and Armontine Simon, his sisters, Elzina Tabor, Elina Menard, Mable Delcambre, Inez Babin, Augustine Hebert; his brothers Nicholas Simon, and Wilton Simon.
