Samuel Hill Sr.
PATOUTVILLE — A Home-going celebration will be held for Mr. Samuel Hill Sr., 73, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Green, Jr., officiating.
He will await the resurrection at Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Patoutville.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday at the church until time of funeral service.
A resident of Jeanerette, he passed Friday, April 6, 2019, at his sister’s residence.
He was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. In addition, he was a former member of Evergreen Lodge No. 31, Free and Accepted Masons.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Paula Sampay Hill of Jeanerette; three sons, Samuel Davis Hill Jr. of New Iberia, Dale Reginald Hill (LaSabre) of New Iberia and Brian Keith Hill (Wanda) of Houston; two daughters, Paula Hill Jefferson (Eric) of Columbus, Georgia, and Tammy Sherell Willis (Derrick) of Carencro; one brother, Leroy Hill Sr. of Patoutville; two sisters, Ethel H. Gage and Martha Green of Jeanerette; one godson, Arnez Marks of Jeanerette; nephews he reared as his own Tony Castle and Javonte Sereal of Jeanerette and Breontrey Thomas of Atlanta; eighteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Junius Hill and Emily Hills Hill; one son, Kenneth Ray Hill; one sister, Lillian Hill Hamilton; and one brother, Lionel Hill.
Active Pallbearers will be Shelly Green, Brian Hill, Dale Hill, Lionel Hill, Lydell Hill, Billy Ray Hill, Clarence Nelson and Ronald Sampay.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Castle, Nelson DeJean, Eric Jefferson, Leroy Hill Sr., Arnaz Marks, Ron Boutte, Andre Sampay, Jeovante Sereal, Breontrey Thomas, Derrick Willis, Russsell Boutte, Jerel Sampay, Donald Sampay, Maurice Jackson Jr., Damarcus Jackson and Fred Sereal.
