I take a great amount of pride in each of Acadiana LifeStyle’s features, but I am always taken aback by what an honor it is to be able to share the Women Making A Difference stories with our readers. This should come as no surprise considering a quick scroll through my camera roll on my phone will reveal that I frequently sport a “The Future Is Female” sweatshirt. Having the opportunity to showcase this diverse group of talented, driven, hardworking, passionate and caring women is a duty I absolutely relish.  These women are making a difference in some really big ways, be it through their careers or volunteer hours. Head to Page 33 to meet this year’s honorees – you’re sure to see some familiar faces, but you’ll definitely learn something new about them.

Speaking of familiar faces – it’s time to reveal the 2018 Stars of Style Gala honorees. The 23 honorees, plus new information about the event, can be found on Page 14. This issue contains all of the details on how to vote for your favorite honoree for Top of the Crop, but the July issue is where you’ll get to read their full bios, see those beautiful portraits and get all of the details on the July 21 gala.

I want to make a special point to recognize our Editorial Board. Last month, we met for a meeting and idea exchange. The amount of local names, events, programs and organizations flying around the table was astonishing! There is no shortage of amazing stories in this community, and they help us stay tapped into that. Take a good look at the Editorial Board members names in the masthead and be sure to thank them next time you see them, because there’s a good chance that if there’s a story you enjoyed, one of them is responsible for the idea.
