Funeral service for Lucy Jackson will be held at noon on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at St. Moses Baptist Church in Sorrel. Bishop BK Stevens will officiate the service.

Ms. Jackson will be interred in Sorrel Community Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 6, 2019, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Moses Baptist Church.

She is survived by sisters Rose Mary Arceneaux (John) and Florence Jackson; brothers Wilson Jackson Sr. (Catherine), Clarence Jackson Jr. (Elaine) and Republican “Rico” Jackson (Sharon). She also leaves to cherish her in memory her devoted niece that she loved as a daughter, Jennifer Jackson Washington (Ronald); sister-in-law Sharon Jackson; and nieces Carol Hamilton, Vanessa Clavell, Gloria Viltz, Regina Jackson, Irene Hamilton Alexander and Peggy Hamilton, who came to aid in her health care during illness; Her Park Avenue High School classmates and beloved friends Patricia Talmore Hopkins of Dallas, April Robertson (Glenton) and Linnette Mendez, both of Springfield, Massachusetts; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Helen Jackson Sr., sisters Lillie Viltz (Cleveland) and Florida Jackson Hamilton (Benjamin); brothers John Jackson Sr. (Sedonia), Lawrence Jackson Sr. (Florida) and Joseph Jackson (Mary Ellen).
