PFC Chosen M. Washington
ST. MARTINVILLE — A Home-going celebration will be held for PFC Chosen Michael Washington, 18, at 11 A.M. Saturday, May 19, 2018, at House of Love Ministry, 700 Church Street, St. Martinville, Louisiana 70582, with Pastor Oscar Gray and First Lady Tylene Gray officiating.
He will await the resurrection at House of Love Ministry Cemetery with full military honors.
A resident of Saint Martinville, he passed away at 6:46 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
He was a 2017 graduate of St. Martinville Senior High School. He then enlisted into the Louisiana Army National Guard.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Janice Washington of Saint Martinville; one brother Kyle Washington of San Deigo, California; one sister Charity (Alex) James of San Diego, California; godparents Diana and Andrien Coleman and Audrey Smothers and Stanley Coleman; three aunts Diana (Adrien) Coleman of Broussard, Norma (Greg) Lewis of Lafayette and Carolyn Jones of Texas City, Texas; two uncles Isaac Washington Jr. of Galveston, Texas and Michael (Janita) Washington of Texas City, Texas; one great-uncle Jefferson Brooks Jr. of New Iberia; five great-aunts Mary L. Johnson of Corpus Christi, Texas, Alice Thomas and Joyce Brooks of New Iberia, Beverly (Douglas) Lumpkin of Port Arthur, Texas and Audrey (Alton) Smothers of Carencro; maternal grandmothers, Lovenia Washington and Selena Sam Brooks; close cousins Chassidy Washington, Leonardo Washington, Brandon Washington, Charles (C.J.) Wiltz, Ashton Washington, Alijah Washington, Alecya Washington, Christian Lambert and Celeina Washington; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Shorty Collins; maternal great-grandfathers, Jefferson Brooks Sr. and John Sam; maternal great-grandmother, Lovenia Edmond Sam; and several aunts and uncles.
Active pallbearers are members of the Louisiana Army National Guard.
Honorary pallbearers are Leonardo Washington Brandon Washington, Ashton Washington, Alyah Washington, Charles “C.J.” Wiltz and Malik Wiltz.
