Mona Bonin Dore
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Mona Bonin Dore, 67, who passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018, in Erath.
Interment will follow in Holy Family cemetery.
Rev. Bill Melancon will be the celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 7 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
A native and lifelong area resident, Mona was born on October 1, 1950. She was a 1968 graduate of New Iberia Senior High School and retired from Baker Hughes. Mona loved animals and taking care of everyone. She was always there for anyone who needed help.
Survivors include her mother, Darlene Rouly Robicheaux of New Iberia; foster parents, Dianna and Robert Rawlins of New Iberia; sisters Sylvia Perez and husband Robert of Lafayette, Maria Romero and companion Juan of New Iberia, Paulette Delahoussaye and husband Michael of New Iberia; brothers Otto “Tetoe” Bonin and wife Christi of Jeanerette, Orien Bonin and wife Donita “Putts” of Youngsville, Johnny Bonin and wife Patricia of St. Martinville; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several godchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard U. Bonin Sr., brother Richard U. Bonin Jr., husband Michael Dore and great-nephews Eyan Paul Hernandez, and Jeremiah Paul Delahoussaye.
