Gloria Judice Delcambre
LOREAUVILLE — A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Mrs. Gloria Marie Judice Delcambre, 89, on Friday, December 28, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Loreauville, with Fr. Godwin Nzeh officiating.
Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
A gathering of remembrance for family and friends to celebrate the life of Gloria Delcambre will be held at David Funeral Home of Loreauville on Thursday, December 27, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Friday, December 28, 2018, at 8 a.m. until the time of the service at 10 a.m.
Gloria Decambre was a lifelong native of Loreauville. Gloria was born on March 1, 1929, to Euphis “Pete” Judice and Cora Oubre Judice. Gloria graduated from Loreauville High School in 1946, attended SLI and wed her beloved husband, Samuel J. Delcambre, in 1949. She and Sam had two children, John R. Delcambre and Debra Delcambre Shackelford, whom they loved dearly. Gloria worked at New Iberia National Bank, now known as Regions, for many years. She was strong in her faith and loved her church community at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she served as a lay minister. She also ministered to the shut-ins and taught religion for 13 years. She was also a member of the St. Joseph’s Adoration Chapel.
Gloria is survived by her son John R. Delcambre and his wife, Yvette, of Loreauville; her daughter Debra Delcambre Shackelford and her husband, Jeff, of New Iberia; four grandchildren Brody Delcambre and his wife, Tya, of Scottsdale, Arizona, Kelly Delcambre Criner and her husband, Captain Nicholas Criner, of Dover, New Jersey, Amanda Shackelford of Lafayette and Justin Shackelford and his wife, Katelynn, of Lafayette; three great-grandchildren: Hanz Criner, Zoey Criner and Maya Delcambre.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel J. Delcambre; parents, Euphis “Pete” and Cora Oubre Judice; and her brother Russell Judice and his wife, Connie.
Serving as pallbearers are John Delcambre, Brody Delcambre, Jeff Shackelford, Justin Shackelford, Chuck Judice and Nicholes Criner.
