A native and resident of Coteau, Anthony passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:42 a.m. at his home surrounded by family and friends.

He was employed with Cameron Compression/GE Oil and Gas for over 30 years and was the owner of Daspit Mobile Home Park Inc.

Anthony, better known as Tony, was a family man at heart and loved his wife, children, and grandchildren unconditionally. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on Oct. 6, 2016, and was determined to fight this horrible disease until his last breath — which he did. For the next 18 months, Anthony courageously underwent chemotherapy, surgery and a clinical trial without ever complaining. It must have been hard for him to know that he would not be there to watch his two beautiful grandsons grow up together, walk his three beautiful daughters down the aisle, watch his children graduate and follow their dreams or finally be able to retire and go fishing anytime he wanted to with his best friend and brother, George.

We, Anthony’s family and friends, have comfort in knowing that he will be looking down on us and is no longer suffering. Anthony will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and coworkers — many of whom refer to him as their mentor and brother.

Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Jamie Hamilton Mazerole, who adoringly referred to him as “Boo”; parents, George Sr. and Stella Romero Mazerole; children, Kimberly Mazerole, Ryan Mazerole, Alex Mazerole and special friend Erica Segura, Alayna Mazerole and boyfriend Wade Jeanminette, Jonah Mazerole, and his baby girl, Alyssa Mazerole; grandsons, Noah Anthony Mazerole and Liam Michael Mazerole, who are truly blessings to our family; brothers, George Mazerole Jr. and wife Melissa and David Mazerole and wife Theresa; sister, Vicki Mazerole Deranger and husband Tony; mother-in- law, Shelby Hamilton; father-in- law, Melvin Hamilton and wife Renella; loving sister-in- law, Janet Fowler and husband Jerry; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Anthony was preceded in death by his grandparents Simonette and Edmarie Mazerole and Olivier and Ena Romero.

Pallbearers will be his three sons, Ryan, Alex, and Jonah Mazerole; brothers, George Mazerole Jr. and David Mazerole; and special cousin, Eugene “Tunie” Reaux.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Viator, Joshua Mazerole, Jacob Mazerole, Dustin Mazerole, Adam Deranger, Hunter Deranger, and Payton Deranger.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Acadiana for their kindness and support during these difficult times.
