Can LSU Defense Step Up?
The LSU Tigers have two losses this season mainly because of poor defensive play. Georgia scored 44 points to come away with a three-point victory. Then, Ole Miss gained more than 500 yards. To put it simply, LSU does not have the blend of athletes and experience that it takes to be successful in John Chavis’ read and react, bend but don’t break style of defense. To slow down Alabama, Chavis must simplify things for his young pups by playing more man to man. It is way too easy for an experienced quarterback to pick apart zone coverage. It will be interesting to see which way the LSU coaches choose to go.
