Ian Christopher Jones

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Ian Christopher Jones at 2 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Father Ed Degeyter will be the celebrant. Readers for the mass will be Theo Sliman and Tulli Zornes. Gift bearers are Zoie M. Annulis, Madison Jones and Autumn Jones. Musical selections will be rendered by Lynn Breaux and Ben LeBleu with Chester McDonald playing bagpipes. Ian will be laid to rest at St. Peter’s cemetery following the mass.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Thursday, March 22, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with the Men’s Rosary Group leading the Rosary at 6 p.m. Visiting hours will resume on Friday from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Ian was born February 1, 1990, in New Iberia to Phebe Gachassin Annulis and Kenley Jones and passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at a New Orleans hospital. He was 28. Ian enjoyed all sports and had been involved from his early years, playing pee wee football, basketball and baseball and in school sports. His most memorable times were the many LSU games he attended and when he was selected as the batboy at the Chicago Cubs game in Houston. Ian also had a love for dogs and cared for many in his lifetime. He had a smile that would light up a room and a personality to match. He will be missed deeply. Rest well Ian. Until we meet again. We love you.  

Survivors include his parents, Phebe Gachassin Annulis and husband, Patrick Annulis, and Kenley Jones; his sisters and brothers, John Z. Annulis, Zoie M. Annulis, Patrick Z. Annulis and Luke Kenley Jones; his grandparents, Julia Gachassin, William “Bill” Gruber and Sylvia Sliman Gruber, and Betty Annulis; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  

Ian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis Gachassin Jr. and Paul T. Annulis; and his great-grandparents, Teddy Sliman Sr. and Yvonne Ashy Sliman, Gordy and Beulah Guilbeau and Louis Gachassin Sr. and Azilda Boneau Gachassin.

Serving as pallbearers are John Annulis, Robert Jones, Paul Jones, Beau Richard, Anthony St. Upery, Josh Guilbeau, Kyle Guilbeau, Grant Cavalier, Austin Schwing.
