Budget on agenda for port board
Budget talks, a report from the Iberia Parish Council and updates on legal opinions are all on the agenda when the Port of Iberia District Board of Commissioners meets today for its regular monthly meeting.
First on the agenda will be a discussion of financial matters, including:
• Budget summary for nine months ending March 2018.
• A listing of tenant lease billings.
• Listing of boat stall tenant lease billings.
• Discussion to approve payment of bills and checks issued during interim period.
• Computer summary of lease agreement activity sheet.
Iberia Parish President Larry Richard will address the board regarding the TIF (Tax Increment Financing) funding to the Port of Iberia District for a port TIF Project of $1.5 million dollars for infrastructure improvements to the drainage along Curtis Lane. The establishment of roadside staging areas with a catch basin for installation to accommodate a new pipe coating facility will be mentioned.
Also, rail spur rehabilitation, perimeter fencing and parking lot will be apart of the project.
A natural gas right-of-way for system improvements and additions for the regular station will be included in the discussion.
A status report on the Iberia Parish Levee, Hurricane, and Conservation District will be addressed by POI Board President Roy Pontiff.
Also on the agenda will be an executive director’s report on consideration to adopt a resolution requesting a legal opinion from the State of Louisiana Attorney General’s office regarding clearing trees within a publicly recorded right-of-way. The report also will include an update on the potential for the Economic Development Project at the Port of Iberia regarding the installation of an 8-inch gas line at Louisiana CAT and consider a cooperative endeavor agreement between Atmos Energy Corp. and the POI.
The Board of Commissioners will meet at 5:30 p.m. today at the Port Administrative Office.
