There will be a few new faces that will be seen inside the administrative buildings of the Iberia Parish School System.

Gannon Dooley will take over as Director of Personnel for Iberia Parish while Glecia Durand will serve as Supervisor of Specially Funded Programs.

Dooley will be leaving his role as the principal of Loreauville Elementary effective June 30. He will replace Jacklene Jones, who is retiring, at the Jane Street office.

The Director of Personnel job duties include recruiting and training employees throughout the parish. The director is instrumental in preparing new teachers for the classroom and assisting in professional development.

Dooley said he’s looking forward to his new position.

“I’m very humbled because there were a lot of good applicants in this process, which included a number of principals and supervising staff,” said Dooley, who has served as a principal in Iberia Parish for 12 years. “It’s exciting to be a part of a new era with all new people.”

Durand will also be stepping into a new position this summer. 

Durand who currently serves as a School Improvement and Assessment specialist at the Iberia Parish Educational Center on Lemaire Street will be stepping up to replace Jennifer Joseph as Supervisor of Specially Funded Programs. Joseph has been selected as the new Assistant Superintendent of Administration for the district.

“I’m very honored to be given this opportunity,” Durand said. “I’m excited about it. I have some good ideas and I’m filling big shoes.”

The Supervisor of Specially Funded programs job duties include writing grant applications for Title I, II and III and the migrant program. The role requires the overseeing of over $8 million dollars in grants.  

“Mrs. Joseph has done a great job and I know she will help me with this transition,” Durand said.
