Armed robbery charges in Wisconsin for New Iberian men

La CROSSE, Wisc. — Two men from New Iberia and a former Iberian were formerly charged Friday with an armed robbery that happened in La Crosse Tuesday.

Taron A. Hill, 24, Thaylon Boutte, 20, both of New Iberia and Jacorrie Benoit, 21, of Wisconsin Dells and formerly of New Iberia, all were charged with armed robbery and with being a party to a crime. Boutte also was charged with possession of THC, La Crosse police officers said.

The three were arrested after La Crosse police were called to the 1100 block of West George Street about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an armed robbery. A description of the get-a-way car was given to police and members of the La Crosse Sheriff’s Department saw the car a short time later.

A traffic stop was conducted, and the three were arrested with assistance from the Bangor and West Salem police departments and Wisconsin State Patrol. Police say the vehicle was searched and a gun was found.

The three were transported to the La Crosse County Jail, where they are being held without bond pending a bail hearing.
