Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Sheryl Touchet Chanthaphone, 50, who passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017, in New Iberia.

Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.

Pastor Randy Dugas will officiate the service.

A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.

A resident of New Iberia, Sheryl was born on October 10, 1966 to Verdy Touchet Sr. and Esther Landry Touchet, and was a member of Our Savior’s Church. She enjoyed playing Pokeno, cooking, crabbing, crocheting, watching wrestling, helping others, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Souvanhkham “Peter” Chanthaphone of New Iberia; son, Peter Chanthaphone and wife Maegan of Youngsville; daughter, Megan Chanthaphone of New Iberia; sisters, Linda Romero of New Iberia, Rebecca Hulin and husband Julius of New Iberia, Shelia Touchet and companion Loc Nguyen of New Iberia; brothers, Verdy Joseph Touchet Jr. of New Iberia, Chad Wallace of New Iberia; granddaughter, Auria Chanthaphone; and special friend, Sandra Morvant of Loreauville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Gary, and grandparents, Bertha Landry, Dupre Landry, Clarphie Touchet, and Esperie Touchet.
