Outstanding Achievers Awards Banquet

The 57th Outstanding Achievers Awards Banquet held Feb. 8 at Ward 8 Recreation Center honored 12 “Jeanerette-ians” for contributing to what makes this Sugar City such a sweet place to call home. Outstanding Citizen was Gail Garcia, a nationally-recognized library grant and public relations professional with 20 years as a photo-journalist. Sponsored by the Jeanerette Chamber of Commerce, the evening included a banquet, entertainment and speeches by area politicians. Jeanerette honored its future with three Outstanding Students, and three recipients of the Arthur L. Verret Memorial Scholarship.
