LSU baseball drops out of Top 10 in polls
BATON ROUGE — The LSU baseball team has fallen out of the Top 10 in all five major polls.
LSU (11-4) won three of four games this past week, including claiming a weekend 2-1 series victory at Alex Box Stadium over California of the Pac-12. That didn’t keep the Tigers from taking a dip in the polls, as LSU dropped at least one spot in three polls.
LSU fell from No. 9 to No. 10 in the Collegiate Baseball Top 30, from No. 10 to No. 11 in Baseball America Top 25, and dropped from No. 9 to No. 13 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
LSU maintained its position in both the D1Baseball.com Top 25 (No. 13) and Perfect Game Top 25 (No. 14) polls.
LSU returns to the diamond with five scheduled games. LSU plays at Northwestern State on Tuesday (6 p.m.), then host Texas Southern on Wednesday (6:30 p.m.) before opening Southeastern Conference play by hosting Kentucky for a three-game series.
