Tigers fall in latest Coaches, AP polls
The LSU football team stayed in the Top 10 but fell several spots in both the Associated Press Top 25 and USA Today Coaches Poll after a 29-0 shutout loss to top-ranked Alabama on Saturday.
The Tigers (7-2) dropped from No. 4 to No. 9 in the AP poll and from fourth to 10th in the USA Today poll.
Alabama remains No. 1 in both polls at 9-0. The Crimson Tide is the unanimous pick of the media in the AP poll and has all but one No. 1 vote in the USA Today poll, with No. 2 Clemson (9-0) nabbing the other top vote.
In both polls, Notre Dame (9-0) is No. 3 followed by Michigan (8-1), Georgia (8-1) and Oklahoma (8-1).
West Virginia (7-1) is seventh in the AP Top 25 with Ohio State (8-1) eighth. The order is reversed in the Coaches Poll, with Washington State (8-1) 10th in the AP poll and ninth in the USA Today poll.
The remainder of the AP Top 25 sees UCF (8-0), Kentucky (7-2), Syracuse (7-2), Utah State (8-1), Texas (6-3), Fresno State 8-1), Boston College (7-2), Mississippi State (6-3), Florida (6-3), Washington (7-3), Penn State (6-3), North Carolina State (6-2), Iowa State (5-3), Michigan State (6-3) and Cincinnati (8-1).
In the USA Today poll it’s UCF, Kentucky and Syracuse followed by Boston College, Mississippi State, Utah State, Fresno State, Washington, Texas, Penn State, Florida, NC State, Cincinnati, Utah and Iowa State.
