Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Martha David Parker, 71, who passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at her home in New Iberia.

Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Leleux will officiate.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

A longtime resident of New Iberia, Martha was born on March 15, 1946, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to the late John Rubert Parker and Mary Louise Carter Parker. She worked at the Holiday Inn Express and was a member of The Glorious Church. Martha faithfully prayed for everyone and enjoyed gardening and traveling.

Survivors include her daughters Monica David of New Iberia and Paulette David Lambert and husband, Bubba Lambert, of Montgomery, Alabama; son Purvis David Jr. of New Iberia; grandchildren Jami David Garcia and husband, Ramiro, Nicholas Lambert, Timothy Lambert, Heather Lambert, Janet Smith and husband, Terry, of New Iberia, who was like a daughter; and Jahirae Martin of New Iberia, who was like a grandson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Purvis David Sr.; sisters Margaret Ellen Parker and Patricia Romero; and a brother Charles Parker.

Pallbearers will be Purvis David Jr., Nicholas Lambert, Jahirae Martin, John David Lagneaux, Trey Touchet and Terry Smith.

Honorary pallbearers include Timothy Lambert, Gerald Romero and John Romero.
