Carbin selected as pageant finalist

Gillanda D’Jay Carbin, 6, has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Louisiana Pageant to be held May 30 to June 1 at the Crown Plaza BatonRouge.
She is the daughter of Gillis and Yolanda Carbin.
She will be participating in the 4 to 6 year old age division, along with other outstanding girls from across the state of Louisiana.
The pageant program is based on inner-beauty as well as poise and presentation, and offers an “All American spirit of fun for family and friends.”
She enjoys cheerleading, dancing, volunteering and singing. She also enjoys reading, writing, arts and crafts, bike riding and joke telling.
