Whats APPening?
By Gail Suberbielle
With thousands of apps out there for your smartphone or tablet, it can be hard to make a choice without cluttering up your phone or cutting into your wallet with apps you’ll never use. To take some of the guesswork out of app selection, we’ve highlighted a few of our favorites. Most are available for iPhone or iPad, although some also are offered for Android or other smartphones.
The Knot Ultimate Wedding Planner®
br
If you’re planning a wedding for this summer, next, or anytime in between, you won’t want to miss this great free app. Many brides-to-be use The Knot’s planning website already, and this handy app lets users access all the website tools, including your budget, checklist, and ideas lists. Brides-to-be can browse thousands of wedding and bridesmaid dresses and get ideas for everything from cakes to hairstyles. Want to know what the hottest wedding registry gifts are this summer? You can find that out, too. Users can locate wedding vendors in their area and save, store, and share photos and clippings. Cost: Free, for a limited time.
iBridal Gown®
br
While many other bridal apps focus on all the minute wedding details, iBridal Gown focuses on the main event: What is the bride going to wear? Finding that special dress can be really time-consuming, but with iBridal Gown, brides-to-be use a “flipbook” to compare favorite dresses, and then share the exciting details via e-mail or Facebook. If you’re confused by all the bridal jargon, the app helps with that, too – learn the terminology for different silhouettes, fabrics, trains, and so forth. Users also can find local bridal salons and record info about their selections, including location, style, designer and cost. Cost: $3.99.
