Rivers — Bourque

Samantha Marie Rivers and Spence Bourque were married Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, by the lake at Rip Van Winkle Gardens in New Iberia. The bride is the daughter of Wendy and Chad Lacour of New Iberia and Johnny Rivers of Avery Island. The groom is the son of Paul and Debra Bourque of Kaplan.

The Rev. Timothy Hisaw officiated the 4 p.m. ceremony.

Given in marriage by her mother and stepfather, the bride wore a strapless sequin and pearl with tulle ruffle princess style dress.

For her headpiece, she wore a minimally decorated veil with sequin flowers around the edge.

She carried a bouquet of calla lilies with a single sunflower bound by lace from her mother’s dress. Her great-grandmother’s World War II whistle was entwined in the lace.

Serving as matron of honor was Morgan Segura. Bridesmaids were Kristian Landry, Lauren Bourque, Mia Louviere and Sierra Boutte. Flower girl was Emmie Landry. Ring bearer was Mitchell Rivers.

Serving as best man was Marcus Trahan. Groomsmen were Shade Abshire, Sham Bourque, Steve Landry, Axl Lacour and Travis Castillo.

Tyler Louviere and Breighton Leblanc served as ushers.

A reception for family and friends was held at the Rip Van Winkle Gardens reception hall in New Iberia.

Following a wedding cruise to Roatan, Honduras, Belize and Mexico, the couple will reside in New Iberia.
