An 83-year-old Coteau man was reported missing Tuesday. 

The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office said they were still searching for Leroy Blaze on Tuesday afternoon, whom they believe left his home on the 6400 block of Fremin Road sometime between 4:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. 

Reached by telephone around 5 p.m., IPSO Public Information Officer Wendell Raborn said the search was still ongoing. 

“We’ve been searching all day,” he said. “We’ve got people out here walking, people out on four-wheelers, we’ve got a helicopter. We’ve not been able to find him,” Raborn said. 

The Sherrif’s Office said Blaze has several medical issues that warrant concern for his well-being. 

At the time of print, an active search remained in progress in the area near Mr. Blaze’s home.
