Next up for IPC: RVera’s budget

The Iberia Parish Council will be ratifying several appointed positions at Wednesday’s regular meeting.

Benny Menard and Roy Pontiff will be approved for the Iberia Economic Development Authority, and Carol Bodin will be ratified for the New Iberia Veterans Memorial Board.

The council also will be taking up a tabled resolution from last week’s meeting that would remove certain receivables from the books for the Acadiana Fairgrounds Commission. The resolution includes removing $1.8 million from the commission, $52,753 from the Royalty Fund and $1.8 million from the General Fund, all of which are loan receivables from the commission to IPG.

Chris Cole with the Acadiana Planning Commission will provide an update on the on the Lewis Street widening project at Admiral Doyle Drive, and Parish President Larry Richard will present certificates of congratulations to the Catholic High football team for its recent state title in Division III.

The council will vote to adopt a resolution amending the 2017 Airport Authority fund budget in the amount of $15,000 to accept grant funding from the state Department of Transportation and Development for the halo grounding system at the Acadiana Regional Airport.

Year end budget adjustments will be made for the General Fund, Drug Court Fund, Recreation and Playground District, Library Sinking Fund, paving and sewerage certificates, Royalty Fund, Road Construction Projects Fund and Waterworks District No. 3 Fund.

The meeting takes place 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Iberia Parish Courthouse.
